Green chilli with a little more attitude than your average salsa verde. Green jalapeños bring the fresh peppery character, while green habaneros push the heat considerably further. Lime cuts through with a bright acidity that keeps the whole thing lively rather than heavy. I’d happily put this on tacos, nachos, eggs or grilled chicken, but it would also make short work of a bowl of tortilla chips. The fresh green flavour makes it dangerously easy to keep going back for another spoonful. A proper salsa verde with habanero hiding in the bushes. Approach with enthusiasm. Perhaps not recklessness.
