Tubby Tom’s Nashville Hot – Bourbon Habanero Sauce

This is the sort of sauce that makes the phrase everyday hot sauce considerably more dangerous. Bourbon gives it a darker, warming character, while habanero and cayenne bring a proper chilli kick. There’s plenty of sharpness too, so it doesn’t sit heavily on the palate. I’d happily put this beside the breakfast plate. Eggs, bacon, hash browns and a few generous drops should get the day moving rather efficiently. It also has the credentials for burgers, fried chicken and pretty much anything that benefits from a combination of heat, acidity and a little smoky depth. Just don’t mistake everyday for mild.
