Made For Meat – Black Garlic Sauce

Black garlic has a rather wonderful habit of making ordinary garlic taste much more mysterious. Kühne has paired it with South American black pepper and a savoury base of peppers, onion and herbs. The result is a smooth sauce with a gentle sweetness, savoury depth and a little peppery warmth. I’d happily put this beside a steak, but don’t stop there. Try it with grilled chicken, pork or roasted vegetables. It also makes a cracking dip for chips and works nicely in a burger when you want something richer than the usual ketchup brigade. The black garlic doesn’t scream for attention. It quietly gets on with making everything around it taste more interesting. A very useful bottle to have lurking in the fridge.
